Is VELD free?
Yes. VELD is completely free to play, with no ads and nothing to buy. Every map and mode is open from the start, and weapons, attachments and camos are earned by playing.
Do I need to download or install anything?
No. VELD runs in your web browser. Open playveld.com and you are in a match in seconds. You can also add it to your home screen or desktop as an app if you like.
Which browsers and devices does VELD run on?
Any recent version of Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari with WebGL, on Windows, macOS, Linux, Android and iOS. Phones and tablets get touch controls, and there is a one line installer for Steam Deck.
Can I play VELD with friends?
Yes. Open the Multiplayer screen, create a lobby and send your friends the invite link. Online matches hold up to 8 players, and empty slots can be filled with bots.
Can I play VELD solo or offline against bots?
Yes. Every mode can be played solo against bots on three difficulty levels: Recruit, Regular and Veteran. A full match against bots is always one click away.
Does VELD support a controller or gamepad?
Yes. Controllers work out of the box, with their own sensitivity and aim response settings. Keyboard and mouse, touch screens and trackpads are supported too.
Do I need an account?
No. You can play without one. A free account keeps your level, stats and weapon progress across devices and puts you on the leaderboard. It only needs a username and a password, no email address.
What game modes are there?
Team Deathmatch, Free for All and Domination, on nine maps. A co-op zombies survival mode is coming next.
What kind of game is VELD?
A fast tactical first-person shooter. Pick a class, fight for the objective, lean around corners and slide into cover, and earn killstreaks like a UAV, an airstrike, a helicopter or a mech.
